Private training can be very beneficial and should be considered once in a while for a number of reasons including getting focused attention on the things that are your weaknesses. Then a coach can help you with things to shore up your game to get better.

I totally agree. Private training is excellent and very helpful IF you can afford it.

Helpful for addressing specific issues and developing a game that is custom to you. Best to do right before a regular class so you can apply the techniques you discuss to real rolls.

I think it’s good, and would advise any beginner to do that if finances allow. You get the opportunity to learn little tweaks that make a huge difference, a lot faster than you would in a bigger class.

You are correct in that private training has great benefits. Butas you also said, "if finances allow" as it is hard enough to pay the membership fee for the dojo, the bus fare, the needed gear, and frequent laundry expenses.
