Thanks for posting the video. I skipped through it and then watched it in full. I got so used to reading the subtitles it seemed like the movie was in English. The two boxers did a terrific performance. Do watch it if you have the time.
I also get a kick out of those Korean or Japanese stories, that usually involve high school age or young adults. They remind me of how I felt at that age. Typically, the stories evolve around bullies and victims, and the bully ends up being punched in the gut so hard he can't get up for a while. When I was that age, I could take repeated punches that would double me over. It'd hurt soooo good! Then I'd recover quickly and be ready for more in a couple of days. I'd always identify with the bully who's getting what he deserves. Gutpunching interrogations and being a villain gutpunched by a hero tweaks my hormones too.
Although GP scenes depicting real people are best, I've also taken an interest in anime GP. I know of two animes that involve boxing.
One of them is about Rocky Joe, also known as Ashita No Joe. Joe is a young boxer who is traumatized after accidentally killing an opponent in the ring with a blow to the temple, and thereafter he has a mental block against hitting an opponent anywhere in the face or head. So he concentrates on punching his opponents in the stomach and even wins several bouts with this tactic. There used to be a lot of good Rocky Joe GP videos on YouTube, but some of them (the good ones, of course) have apparently been taken down. One good one that's still there is "Rocky Joe Gutpunching." This is the one that alerted me to the existence of anime GP. There was also a live-action movie about this character. I haven't seen it.
The other is about a boxer named Hajime No Ippo. There are a lot of Ippo videos, but GP doesn't seem to be a theme here, not in the sense that it is with the Rocky Joe storyline. I've spent many hours loading Ippo YouTube videos and slowly scrolling through them looking for the good stuff. Try "Ippo Vs Mashiba Tagalog Full Fight - Knock out." Scroll to 16:00 and start there. Mashiba gets beat up in the stomach real good.
In fact gut punches seem to be a lot more present in Japanese than in Western shows and movies. I started collecting Anime GP scenes years ago; currently I am in the process of shifting those videos from YT to Rumble.
Iāve just uploaded a short scene from the Ashita no Joe live action movie you mentioned, a clip I found on the Internet a couple of years ago.
Itās weird, but itās important for me to hear about the problem. No, thereās no need signing in to Rumble, you can watch videos without an account, just like you can on YT. I tried with different browsers and didnāt encounter any issues. I will, however, investigate into it in case itās a common problem.
I think it's a common problem for anyone who's browser is set to reject trackers. You can set some browsers to accept trackers and cookies till you close it. I use Epic on this site, so a lot of stuff won't load because it doesn't allow any trackers period. So, if Rumble is working, it's because it's sneaking trackers into your machine.
You may very well be right. I work with SeaMonkey, Safari, and rarely Firefox, and I do set all of them to a high security levelāāno third party cookies, delete cookies and history on session close, etc. Plus, I use AdGuard extension with Firefox set to stealth mode and anything else. Still, Rumble works fine, so obviously whatever they use gets through. Iām surprised, however, that YouTube works for you as theyāre worse. SeaMonkey, for instance, keeps telling me about a ānon-responding scriptā when it stops loading a YT page.
It might just the particular type of trackers in use. Youtube works fine in Epic. I've not tried SeaMonkey, but remember seeing it as an option in Linux systems. Have they gone a bit more mainstream?
SeaMonkey? Well, it works better now but there are still issues with certain sites, mainly becauseāāalthough itās a Mozilla browserāāthey donāt identify it and say āyour browser is not supportedā. I like using SeaMonkey because it works on most URLs I visit and because itās browser and e-mail client in one app, like the good olā Netscape Communicator. And Iām so fed up with Firefoxā new look and those updates every 30 seconds. >.<
I'll have to check it out. I enjoy trying out new stuff. I have 3 machines with Linux, and would have a 4th, but the hard drive is embedded, so if I break the MBR, which happens on Linux sometimes, the machine will become a paperweight and nothing more.
In return Iāve begun trying Epic which I didnāt know much about before. Indeed there are some issues; most seem to focus on the on-board VPN. But then, for instance, DeviantArt I cannot reach at all using Epic, with or without VPN. On the other hand, on my end Rumble works flawlessly, I can watch videos and upload my own using Epic. So, who knowsā¦
Well, websites offer an option to accept/reject cookies. Usually, but not always, rejecting them means the site won't function. Trackers are another issue. Websites also install trackers, without notification. So, Epic's pretty good at blocking both, however when it blocks a tracker, the website may not function, but the person trying to access the site may not realize it's because it's programmed to not function without loading trackers. You can experiment if you have a program that identifies both cookies and trackers. Clear both from two different browsers, then visit a site Epic won't load, then visit the same site in another browser that does work, then take a look at what the site loaded into the browser that did work.
Thanks! I'd love to see it, but unfortunately, the video doesn't play. It's strange – I do see an ad with a notation that the ad can be dismissed in 5 seconds, but when the ad ends, the video doesn't play. I refreshed the page, but that didn't help. :( I also tried a different browser, but no help there either.
Thank you for the feedback!
I just checked the links and found them working. Of course thereās always a chance that security mechanisms block intended traffic, too; Iāve experienced it multiple times myself. I canāt tell Rumbleās policy about cookies, trackers, et al. YT usually bothers you with the ābefore you proceed to YouTubeā page. This is where my channel links lead to.
In case of the video not playing, Iāve been noticing that āLoadingā¦ā can take some time even for a short video. I just checked again and found that in case of the Ashita no Joe video the black window says āLoadingā¦ā for no less than 17 seconds before the video starts. Might be a weird feature of Rumble, who knows. I fear this is beyond my reach. Please try again and wait some time; Iād like to know if this solves the issue.

3/11/2022 4:31 AMLinks didn't work for me either. It may be because I have trackers blocked.
