Man its always tough to get that conversation going. I have guys that I talk to at the gym that I would love to play with on the mats. Ive casually brought up the wresting to a few in the past and the reponse is usually that it sounds great and like fun but havent managed to ever lure any of them into participating. I have a couple of buddies that swear by wearing a wrestling tee shirt has gotten them matches. I have a Iowa Hawkeyes wresting Tee that has drawn attention many times. Guys approach, ask if I wrested for Iowa but then again, never ended up in a roll.
Hi to all, I know a guy who would be a great opponent for sure, should I say an awesome heel. He is pretty tall (about a head more than me), also really strong built with pretty thick thighs and arms, he already does basketball, and I think he is very strong, without any doubt much more than I am anyway... I would absolutely love to be his jobber in a wrestling match, but I honestly don't know how to ask him about my interest for wrestling, do you have any advices for this? And also for the wrestling moves he could use, I think he could apply amazing headscissors and sleepers in any variations, probably some strong grapevines too, I have almost no doubt to the fact while he applies a move, I would have no over choice to be locked toght in it without absolutely no chance to escape until he is ready to let me go and realease the move ;-P
Thanks in advance for your responses!
Just start talking about your interests in wrestling, you will then get his response on how he feels about it. If he is keen, then go to about how strong legs can win a match. Just judge his response.
Yes, this is the best way to go. I also have worn wrestling-related t-shirts in the gym, and also wear my wrestling shoes most of the time…but not together! 😁I don’t want to look like I’m pushing too hard!

The idea behind the shirt is to get the conversation started in that direction! Good luck!
